OfS Mental Health Project

A project to help target and improve mental health and wellbeing support for students has begun at Newcastle College University Centre.

The initiative, funded by a grant from the Office for students, aims to embed mental health literacy into the student experience and improve mental health through an enhanced range of prevention, support and intervention services. Students on eleven courses will benefit initially as part of a trial, before it is rolled out across the University Centre.

This support will complement Newcastle College and NCG's wider strategy to support student mental health across all age groups. This includes award-winning student support and counselling, as well as the roll of out mental fitness app, Fika, which helps build confidence, resilience and wellbeing.
