Newcastle College Colleague Shortlisted for two Regional Tech Awards

A lecturer at Newcastle College has been shortlisted for both the Rising Star and People’s Choice awards at Dynamites 2023.

Dynamites is a prestigious North East IT and Tech award ceremony, celebrating the best IT and Tech individuals and businesses across the region.

Corey Veitch-McAllister, who teaches digital technologies and is also a second-year teaching student, was nominated by Kevin Hillary, Head of Digital Technologies.

Kevin said: "Corey has revitalised our department and inspired a new generation of learners to get involved with coding and digital. He has received numerous positive comments from learners, increased attendance in all his sessions and promoted progression from FE to HE to support the regional skills gap. He thoroughly deserves to be on that shortlist."

The People's Choice Award is open to a public vote. Vote for Corey here.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 16 November at Newcastle Civic Centre.
