Lewisham College Principal Attends AoC Meeting about Green Skills
Last week, Lewisham College Principal Jamie Stevenson attended a meeting with Howard Dawber, the Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth, and the Association of Colleges, about green skills and the future of education.
Howard said: “London’s colleges play a crucial role in developing the leaders of tomorrow and driving inclusive growth in the capital by ensuring businesses have access to the skills they need.
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with our partners in the Further Education sector and London Councils to deliver London’s Growth Plan and build a greener, more prosperous city for all.”
The day culminated in an Association of Colleges round table discussion, attended by Principals and CEOs from Waltham Forest College, New City College, Lewisham College, Leyton Sixth Form College, WM College, Morley College London, HRUC Apprenticeships & Skills, and West Thames College.
The group tackled pressing issues, including workforce challenges, health and wellbeing, and fostering stronger employer partnerships. The meeting concluded with a unified commitment to working together to address these challenges and seize opportunities for the sector.
