As we begin #CollegesWeek2024 celebrations, students across our colleges are taking part in a brand-new mental health study that we hope will address the increased demand for mental health support from young people in education.
In partnership with @Activate Learning and PsycApps, we're conducting Britain's largest clinical trial of its type, using cutting-edge mobile mental health app, eQuoo. This clinically proven gamified app is designed to improve student emotional health by tapping into skills that are shown to boost resilience and encourage personal growth while reducing anxiety and depression.
4,000 students across NCG's colleges will take part, with the initiative focusing on the mental health issues that contribute to non-attendance, students dropping out of college, behavioural issues and academic struggles.
Our CEO Liz Bromley said: "I believe that the mental health and wellbeing of our students is crucial to their future success. Young people are facing real stress and mental pressures these days... I am pleased to be able to collaborate with another forward-thinking college group to tackle such an important issue and offer thousands of young people across the country access to an innovative solution that we hope will bring them enormous benefits.”
