NCG at the Labour Party Conference
Devolution can create real opportunities, but it has to work for every learner.
That was a key theme in discussions at last week's Labour Party Conference, where our Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Principal Tony Lewin joined Baroness Jacqui Smith, Rt Hon. Justine Greening and Angela Joyce (Capital City College) for Opportunity in Action: Colleges, Devolution and the Future of Skills, hosted by The Purpose Coalition.
As a national group, with colleges operating in both devolved and non-devolved areas, NCG sees first-hand the opportunities devolution can bring, as well as some of the practical challenges for learners, employers and providers. This includes ensuring apprenticeship opportunities are not overlooked as new devolved funding arrangements take shape.
Watch Tony share his thoughts on why collaboration will be key to making skills reforms work for everyone, and ensuring no learner is left behind.
